Plein Air Saturday–Pickerington Ponds

Today was brisk with frost, but the sun quickly warmed us. I painted two little 5x7s today. I really prefer to work quickly so I don’t noodle with details. I’m happy with my results today. My favorite is the one below, which was actually the second one I painted today:

Steve Worthington's mouse is adorable!

Your greens are beautiful. Great job on them. The top painting looks like it was done with confidence and deliberate brush strokes ... the way I want to paint.

We've had beautiful sun the last two day and expecting one more day of sun before we are threatened with rain once again.

Thanks! I really like how it turned out and forced myself to stop. I always feel guilty when it comes to finish so quickly and feel the need to do something else, just to put the time into it. But I know that is silly and will certainly mess up what I love about it, so I STOP.

I used a different blue for this palette - Prussian Blue, along with Hansa Yellow,Cad Red Med.,white and Chromatic black (Gamblin oils).

Well your different palette certainly worked ... really nice! I'm just can't stop when I'm suppose to, maybe when I've got more canvas work behind me. Right now I'm just thankful that I don't have the dreaded "white canvas fright". Seems I left that with the watercolor.
