There are machine made sanded surfaces available, but to me, the texture is too mechanical and regular. I like the unexpected texture that pops up when I make my own.Nancy L. The texture helps make a statement that isn't there without it. Is making your own textured surface less expensive, can you find texture surfaces ready-made? Or is it like gessoing your canvas ... you can make it textured if you want ?
